How to Wash and Care for Linen Curtains
Linen is a strong, noble fibre: with a little care, your curtains will stay beautiful for many years.
Gentle washing
Wash at a low temperature, on a delicate cycle with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and harsh fabric softeners. Don't overload the drum: linen needs room to move, otherwise it creases sharply.
Drying
Air drying is best, away from prolonged direct sunlight, which fades colours over time. Hang the curtains back up while still slightly damp: their weight helps the creases drop out on their own.
Ironing
If you love a smooth finish, iron on the reverse while the linen is still damp. If you prefer linen's lively, natural texture, simply leave it as it is: that slight irregularity is part of its character.
Small attentions
Every now and then, vacuum gently on a low setting with a soft brush attachment to stop dust settling between the folds. Little upkeep, long life.
