How to Measure Your Window for Made-to-Measure Curtains
Made-to-measure curtains start with two numbers: width and height. Getting them right is half the job.
Width
Measure the width of the window and add a margin on each side, so the curtain covers properly when closed and draws without letting in slivers of light. If you're fitting to the wall, the pole usually extends a little beyond the window: take that into account.
Height
First decide where the curtain starts (above the window, on the wall, or at ceiling level) and where it ends. The three most common finishes are: level with the sill, just below it, or all the way to the floor. For a French window, the height runs down to the threshold.
On the floor or just above it
"Just above" leaves the curtain skimming the floor, for a clean look; "on the floor" lets it rest with a slight puddle, softer and more dramatic. It's a question of style.
If you're unsure
Better to measure once more than once too few. In the configurator, enter the real width and height of the opening: we'll take care of the heading and the making-up.
