Double curtains: drape and sheer, how it works
Double curtains bring two fabrics together at the same window: an opaque curtain and, underneath, a sheer panel that filters the light. It's the most flexible way to control daylight.
Why two layers
During the day you draw only the sheer: it filters the light and protects your privacy without dimming the room. In the evening you close the opaque curtain for intimacy and warmth. Two gestures, two moods.
The sheer stays soft
In a double curtain the sheer underneath is always flat or, at most, wave-pleated: it falls light and even, even when the opaque curtain above is gathered. It's a matter of visual balance.
The hardware
On the wall you use a double rod; on the ceiling a double track. The configurator picks the right hardware based on the mounting.
Who it's for
For anyone who really lives in the living room and wants to adjust the light at any moment, without giving up the elegance of a full fabric in the evening.
