Bedroom curtains: how to block out the light
In the bedroom, a curtain has one clear job: helping you sleep well. Darkness matters, but so does the warmth of the room.
The right fabric
To really block out the light you need a dense fabric or a blackout panel. A heavy linen creates a warm half-light; a technical blackout takes you to almost complete darkness, ideal for anyone sensitive to early morning light.
Covering the edges
Light creeps in at the sides: a curtain slightly wider than the window and, if needed, mounted at ceiling height reduces those slivers of light along the edges. It's the detail that makes the difference between "almost dark" and genuinely dark.
Two layers
A sheer panel during the day plus a blackout panel at night gives you the best of both: soft light when you wake up, full darkness when you sleep.
Atmosphere
Deep, warm colours make a bedroom feel more intimate. Configure your curtain starting from the measurements of your bed and window, and think about how you want to wake up.
